Lake Cowichan is a small forest based community, located on the shore ofVancouver Islands largest lake. The Cowichan river runs through thecenter of town and then runs south east; it enters the sea at the townof Cowichan Bay.
Cowichan lake is over 31 km long and has over150 km of shoreline. There are many places for visitors to relax, inLake Cowichan village and in the surrounding communities of MesachieLake, Honeymoon Bay, Youbou, and Caycuse.
You will find shops,banks, restaurants, gas stations, and sporting goods stores on SouthShore Road. If you continue driving west it is only a short drive to the communities of Mesachie Lake and Honeymoon Bay.

While in town don't forget to visit Kaatza Station, an award winning community heritage museum,housed in the old E&N Railway station.
